This hornets nest was affixed above a doorway at the old high school. If you look at a larger view, you will notice the sentries at the entrance to the nest. Have you heard the story that if you throw a rock at a hornet’s nest, they will follow the trajectory and get you? I know it works with a pellet gun too. I got nailed twice in the head before I knew they were mad. (Not here, but when I was younger and out in the country.)
